OSNER’S FC Announces Floyd Bennett Sports Complex as Its New Home in Brooklyn

Historic Floyd Bennett Field becomes the home of the NYC Lions for UPSL Premier, U.S. Open Cup & 2027 NPSL competition

BROOKLYN, NY, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- OSNER’S FC proudly announces Floyd Bennett Sports Complex, located within historic Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, as the new home of the club’s First Team, establishing a permanent competitive base for UPSL Premier, U.S. Open Cup competition and the 2027 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) season.

Beginning in 2027, the club also plans to expand its use of Floyd Bennett Sports Complex to include home competition for the OSNER’S FC Academy U18 and U19 teams, creating an important connection between the club’s youth-development program and the home of its senior team.

For OSNER’S FC, this is more than a venue announcement.

It is about finding a home.

A home where players can compete. A home where young academy players can imagine their future. A home where parents and families can gather. And, importantly, a home in Brooklyn where the club can deepen its relationship with the communities it was created to represent.

The announcement also coincides with a new era for the sports complex itself. Gateway Hospitality LLC, a subsidiary of national hospitality and recreation management company ExplorUS, assumed operations of the facility in July 2026 and introduced its new identity as Floyd Bennett Sports Complex. The new operator has outlined a phased approach centered on restoration, facility assessment, community engagement and the long-term revitalization of the historic recreational complex.

A NEW ERA AT FLOYD BENNETT SPORTS COMPLEX

The reopening and transition of the former Aviator facility under new management represents an important development for Brooklyn sports and recreation.

Gateway Hospitality formally assumed operations in July 2026. Its parent company, ExplorUS, operates hospitality and recreational services at destinations across the United States. The new management has communicated plans to assess and restore the complex in phases while preserving valued programming, rebuilding community relationships and exploring opportunities to broaden access and enhance the facility over time.

For OSNER’S FC, that direction carries particular significance.

The club itself is growing competitively, organizationally and through its academy and sees an opportunity to establish roots at a facility that is simultaneously preparing for its own next era.

A PLACE BUILT ON HISTORY AND POSSIBILITY

The story of Floyd Bennett Field stretches far beyond soccer.

Dedicated on May 23, 1931, Floyd Bennett Field became New York City's first municipal airport. Named in honor of pioneering naval aviator Floyd Bennett, it became one of America's celebrated aviation locations during the Golden Age of Flight.

According to the National Park Service history of Floyd Bennett Field, numerous record-setting transatlantic and around-the-world flights began or ended there during the 1930s. Aviation figures associated with the field included Wiley Post, Howard Hughes, Amelia Earhart, Jacqueline Cochran and Douglas “Wrong-Way” Corrigan.

The facility later became Naval Air Station New York and served the country during World War II before eventually becoming part of Gateway National Recreation Area under the National Park Service.

For a football club built around ambition and opportunity, there is symbolism in making a home at a place where generations once came to pursue boundaries that had not yet been crossed.

“Floyd Bennett has always represented possibility,” Nazaire said. “People came here with extraordinary ambitions. In a very different way, that speaks to what we want young footballers to feel when they enter OSNER’S FC, that where you begin does not have to determine how far you can go.”

BROOKLYN IS HOME

Floyd Bennett Sports Complex is located at 3159 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11234, giving OSNER’S FC a home along one of Brooklyn’s major corridors and within reach of communities throughout Flatbush, Marine Park, Mill Basin, Canarsie and surrounding neighborhoods.

For a club with strong Haitian-American roots, establishing its First Team in this part of Brooklyn carries particular meaning.

Brooklyn is home to one of the world's extraordinary combinations of cultures. Haitian and other Caribbean communities live alongside families with roots throughout Latin America, Africa, Europe, Asia and the United States.

That diversity is not simply where OSNER’S FC plays. It is part of what the club wants to represent.

The club's Haitian heritage provides an important foundation, but its vision is deliberately inclusive: to build a New York City soccer organization where players, families and supporters from different backgrounds can find common ground through football.

“We are proud of our Haitian roots, and we are equally proud to represent Brooklyn,” Nazaire said. “Those ideas don't compete with each other. Brooklyn teaches us that heritage and diversity can strengthen one another. We want someone from Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad, Guyana, Africa, Latin America or someone born right here in Brooklyn to walk into Floyd Bennett and feel that there is a place for them.”

A HOME FOR THE LIONS OF NEW YORK CITY

Floyd Bennett Sports Complex will serve as the home of the OSNER’S FC First Team, including home fixtures in UPSL Premier, U.S. Open Cup competition and the club’s 2027 NPSL campaign.

That consistency matters.

A club becomes more connected to its community when supporters know where to find it. Players develop a relationship with their home field. Families develop matchday traditions. Local businesses and organizations begin to recognize the club as a neighbor rather than simply another team passing through.

OSNER’S FC wants Floyd Bennett to become that place.

“When our players walk onto the field, I want them to understand that they are defending our home,” Nazaire said. “When another club comes to play us, we want them to know they have arrived in Brooklyn. And when our supporters come through those gates, we want them to feel that this belongs to them too.”

FROM THE ACADEMY TO FLOYD BENNETT: BUILDING A VISIBLE PATHWAY

Perhaps one of the most important elements of the club's plans for Floyd Bennett is what the venue can mean for the OSNER’S FC Academy.

Beginning in 2027, OSNER’S FC intends to utilize Floyd Bennett Sports Complex for competitive matches involving its U18 and U19 Academy teams, further integrating the academy into the club’s senior football structure.

For the organization, this is not simply a matter of finding additional field space.

It is a developmental decision.

The U18 and U19 years represent a critical transition in a young footballer's career. Players are approaching the point at which decisions about college soccer, senior football and potential professional opportunities become increasingly important. Training is no longer enough. They need meaningful competition, appropriate standards and an environment that begins preparing them for the expectations of senior football.

Giving those players an opportunity to compete at the same complex used by the OSNER’S FC First Team helps make the club's pathway visible.

An academy player should not have to imagine where the next level exists. He should be able to see it.

“One of the most powerful things we can give a young player is a destination,” Nazaire explained. “When our U18 and U19 players compete at Floyd Bennett, they will know that the First Team plays on these fields too. They can watch our NPSL and UPSL Premier players and understand that the next level isn't somewhere abstract. It is right in front of them.”

The club's developmental structure is designed to connect the OSNER’S FC Academy with senior competition through UPSL Division 2, UPSL Division 1, UPSL Premier and NPSL. Not every player will follow the same route or progress at the same pace, but the objective is to create legitimate opportunities for players who demonstrate the technical ability, tactical understanding, physical preparation, mentality and character necessary to advance.

The Floyd Bennett relationship can strengthen that structure while also helping the academy establish a recognizable competitive home in Brooklyn.

For parents, that matters too.

Families investing time and trust in a youth program deserve to understand what the development pathway looks like. They should be able to attend a U18 or U19 match and then return to the same complex to watch the senior team. A younger academy player should be able to watch an older academy player progress and recognize that advancement is achievable through commitment and development.

That creates continuity.

And eventually, it creates tradition.

“Our ambition is that one day a supporter watches a young player compete for our U18 or U19 team at Floyd Bennett, and a few years later sees that same player wearing the OSNER’S FC First Team jersey on that same field,” Nazaire said. “That would tell us that the pathway is doing exactly what it was designed to do.”

The relationship between OSNER’S FC, its academy and Floyd Bennett also creates possibilities beyond competitive matches.

The club sees opportunities over time for youth clinics, academy activities, community programming and events that bring players and families closer to the organization.

That community dimension is particularly important in Brooklyn.

A young player may initially come to Floyd Bennett for a clinic. A family may first encounter OSNER’S FC through an academy match. Another supporter may discover the club through a U.S. Open Cup fixture. A local business may become involved through a community partnership or sponsorship.
